I’m a Dam Builder Part 2

My last blog ended with “God Told Me I’m a Dam Builder.” I’m sure you’re curious as to what that means. Well here you go. The following is an excerpt from my journal entry(I don’t journal but we were encouraged to do so) on my solo day from the CGA hike. Keep in mind that it’s around lunchtime and I’m sitting out on a rock in the middle of the river. I took a branch and began to break it and toss it in the river. Then I look over and I see rocks creating a dam.

I don’t want to be a branch that gets caught up in the current and is taken downstream. I want to be a rock / a boulder that withstands the current and pushes back against it. I want to be a dam! I am a dam!

The branch is flimsy, light weight and has no foundation. There is no meat(knowledge) to the branch. No truth. The rock / boulder is stubborn and heavy which makes it hard to move. It’s begging / daring the water to try and move it. There are many rocks stacked on top of each other and standing side by side. The water is still able to flow through but it makes it a little more difficult. The water isn’t able to move as quickly as it could if there were no rocks in it’s path.

Stand Firm. Be Bold. No Passivity. Stand Together.

Slow the Current. Carry some Weight(knowledge of God and scripture).

Keep Building.

The current(water) – Society / the norm / Satan

Branches – Those who get caught up in the worldly things. Living in sin.

Rocks / Boulders – Christians who are standing up to Satan / Society. Those who have a solid foundation in Christ and that don’t just know God and scripture but that live it and breathe it.

Dam Builders – Disciplers. Someone who disciples and brings together those who are after the heart of the Lord.

God Told Me I’m a Dam Builder!

It’s time for me to start building dams. This past year on the Race, I learned a lot about my true identity and the man God created me to be. He created me to be a passionate, bold, courageous man who will stop at nothing to see others come to know Him. He has given me a heart that desires to disciple this generation and to fight for the those who do not know Him. I want to help others discover who God has created them to be and start making more dams.

If you’d like to help support me throughout the next few months of leadership training / apprenticeship here at Adventures just click the support tab and know that the money that God has given you is making a difference for His Kingdom. Also, I’m praying about what’s next and that might be squad leading for Adventures in January which I will also need to raise funds towards. If you could join with me in praying into that and also about financially supporting me that would be great. Let’s start building some dams.
